It might seem as though the Olympic games are a long way off, but we are already taking bookings for 2012 !
The New Forest is an ideal base for visiting the London 2012 Olympic Games due to its proximity to London, Weymouth/Portland and Eton Dorney, and its excellent transport links. There is a frequent train service to London Waterloo from the New Forest, taking just over an hour and a half from Lymington.
The Olympic torch will be coming to Lymington High Street on 14th July 2012 !
Leyland Country House is located in Lymington, inside the New Forest National Park which has been voted as one of the top five cultural regions for the 2012 games.
Lymington is with driving distance of Weymouth and London, and also has the advantage of having its own railway station. Lymington allows easy access to Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour for the Olympic and Paralympic sailing competitions via the M3 motorway, Bournemouth Airport and train. And Eton Dorney near Windsor for the Olympic rowing competitions is a short train ride west of London.
